Start Safe: A fire and burn safety program for preschoolers and their families

Fire and burns are in the top 5 leading causes of unintentional injuries and death in young children. Start Safe is designed to teach preschoolers and their families about fire and burn safety. The training will focus on key safety messages and actions to reduce fire and burn injuries. Regardless of role, Start Safe will provide education and resources to reduce the risk of fire and burn injuries to young children and their families. Free resources and tools will be provided to participants.

At the end of this session participants will be able to:
  • Develop a home escape plan and help others do the same.
  • Teach 3 key fire and burn safety messages to young children and parents/caregivers.
