Preparing for a Successful Transition to Kindergarten

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Learn about the process of transitioning out of early childhood special education and into kindergarten! You will understand the difference between the IFSP and IEP, be prepared for your first IEP meeting, learn healthy team dynamics, how to keep a positive vision for the future, and the critical role parents have on the IEP team.

By the end of this session participants will:
  • Understand important definitions from IDEA, such as FAPE and LRE, and differences between ECSE and school-age services.
  • Understand the role of parents on the IEP team, healthy team dynamics, and how to hold onto a positive vision of their child's future and be an effective advocate.
