JoAnn Lewis will present information on communication skills and teaching proficiencies for nurturing touch, with principles from the International Association of Infant Massage for children and parents, as well as caregivers and staff of organizations. This course will provide participants with breathing and touch techniques which enhance loving communication, honor choice, and respect. This will educate participants regarding the importance of touch for healthy growth and development at all ages. She will offer information regarding education connection by touch communication as well as describing the benefits of nurturing touch and massage for the infant/child and the parent/caregiver. JoAnn Lewis is an LMT and an Internationally Certified Trainer of Educators in Infant Massage with the USA Chapter and is the main contact for the Pacific Northwest region and teaches at many colleges from Seattle to SF. She resides in Ashland, Oregon and is the Director of FMEC where they teach weekly classes in nurturing touch massage to all ages of people.
At the end of this session participants will be able to:
- Define and utilize effective relaxation skills that will encourage the establishment of healthy teaching rapport with the parent/caregiver.
- Describe the benefits and basic teaching techniques of Nurturing Touch / Massage for communication between the infant/children and the parent/caregiver and others.
